High Demand for Flexible Office Solutions in Chicago Continues to Rise
Chicago (March 24, 2014) – Amata Office Centers, the largest privately owned office suites provider in Chicago, has announced it is opening its sixth shared office center, located in the West Loop at 150 South Wacker Drive.
The 16,950-square-foot space comprises the entire 24th floor of the building and will feature more than 50 private office suites, seven open workstations, six large team rooms, three state-of-the art conference rooms, a spacious café and lounge, and Amata’s signature Cognac room. Amata’s 150 South Wacker Drive shared office center is scheduled to open May 1.
“It seemed natural that our next location would be in the West Loop as it has quickly become one of the hottest areas for startups, especially those launching tech firms,” said Ron Bockstahler, Amata’s CEO and co-founder. “We even took that into account in designing the shared office space at 150 South Wacker, as it will include an open loft concept, gigabit Ethernet connection and video games in the lounge. The building is also easily accessible from I-90 and I-94 as well as close to the Union and Ogilvy Metra Stations, making it a convenient location for commuters.”
For more than a decade, Amata has been at the forefront of the shared office movement by connecting small, entrepreneurial businesses, as well as national and international companies looking to set up offices in Chicago.
“Over the past 10 years, there has been an increasing shift in entrepreneurs and small and large business alike choosing to set up shop in downtown Chicago. In fact, due to the city’s resources and community engagement, Forbes just listed Chicago as the tenth best place to launch a startup in 2014,” said Bockstahler. “Because of the increase in firms flocking to Chicago, we’ve seen an increasing demand for our cost-effective and flexible office solutions, so we’re excited to offer a new Amata location to companies.”
The rise for virtual and shared office space solutions like those offered by Amata is not likely to ease up anytime soon. By 2020, 40 percent of the U.S. workforce will be contractors, temporary workers or self-employed, according to a recent study conducted by Intuit. Additionally, the report states that in the next seven years, the number of small and personal businesses in the U.S. alone will increase by more than 7 million.
Although shared office spaces are becoming increasingly popular, Bockstahler noted not all shared office space providers are the same. “Like any business, the details make the difference. For our clients, it’s the level of high quality services and unique amenities we offer that draw them to our office space,” he said.
“For example, not only do we offer tenants a professional support staff that provides personal phone answering and other administrative services, but we’ll help them with everything from finding office furniture to writing customized voice greetings,” added Bockstahler. “We don’t just give them office space, we’re part of their team so they can focus on their core business.”
“Amata’s team has become an extension of my company,” said John Beam, president and founder of EquiTrade, Amata’s first and longest-standing client. “I have to travel a lot for business and it’s nice to know I have a team I trust to support me and take care of everyday tasks while I’m gone. The staff makes a concerted effort to understand my particular business needs and takes a proactive approach to every project. We’ve used other office providers in the past and Amata’s level of service exceeds those conventionally available in the marketplace today.”
Select Amata locations provide special services that cater to specific industries. For example, Amata’s “aLawCenter” locations at 180 N. LaSalle St. and 161 N. Clark St. cater to the company’s legal clients, offering private deposition rooms, paralegal support and docket services, among other amenities.
Each of Amata’s office centers are equipped with state-of-the-art technology such as interactive displays and high-definition video conferencing, far advanced from the competition. The company’s common areas include spacious conference rooms, an on-site café and Amata’s signature Cognac room, making it easy for entrepreneurs to network and come together to solve common problems.
