Video marketing is rapidly becoming the number one way to sell everything from technology to real estate.
Business center and coworking space owners and operators are using video in new and creative ways, some of which we have covered in the pages of OT.
For those of you who are still using the same ‘room-to-room’ technique, you may want to re-examine your strategy. Today’s videos are shorter, move quickly from scene to scene, and more often than not, sprinkle in some fun.
They might include up close and personal looks at your tenants, suppliers, even people on the street. Above all your videos should be lively, interactive and inviting.
Here are three tried-and-true ways to use video that we’ve come across in our ongoing quest for great videos:
- Tenant/member stories. Stories about them, not necessarily how great the space is. Giving your tenants an outlet to share their businesses and value statements is an excellent way to put the spotlight on them and, in effect, on your space.
- Welcome message from the owner or manager. Keep it short, on topic, and full of benefits to the clients and you will have a great introduction to your center. Casual is the order of the day. Stay away from static desk shots and keep it informal. Try a ‘walk while you talk’ style video or sit in the middle of your space and let your clientele wander in and out of view. Eye contact, a friendly smile and demonstrating a passion for what you do will make your ‘welcome’ video a stand out.
- Fun and entertainment. Get your tenants involved in creating a fun video that shows off your space and its inhabitants. We’ve seen some creative short comedy sketches and time lapse video that grabs attention and shares your space and people.
Below is an example of a video that is both entertaining and shows off the space. Titled “A Day in the Life of a Coworking Space” it comes from Oficio Coworking Space in Boston. Send us your creative video and we will post it.
