India-based coworking space operator, Awfis, raised $30 million from a Series D funding round led by ChrysCapital, bringing the company’s total amount raised to $81 million. Awfis is one of India’s largest coworking operators and it currently has 63 coworking spaces operating. Amit Ramani, founder and CEO of Awfis, told TechCrunch that the $30 million raised will be used to power the company’s growth and the company expects to add about 340 coworking spaces in the next year and a half.

Flexible workspace and event space provider, Convene, announced this week that it’s headed across the pond. The New York-based company expects to open its first international location in the heart of London in September 2020. The space, located within the 22 Bishopsgate development, will boast 102,000 square feet of rentable space; half of it 51,000 sq ft will be used for Convene’s WorkPlace offering and the other half for meeting and event space.
India-based hospitality brand, OYO, announced the opening of its first coworking spaces after it announced the launch of OYO Workspaces in July, 2019. The coworking space opened under the Innov8 brand, which OYO acquired earlier this year. The new coworking space is located in Saket, Delhi in what was previously a fort, and it boasts 415 seats. According to the Economic Times India, OYO Workspaces plans to expand its presence to over 50 centers across India by the end of this year, under its three workspace brands: Workflo, Powerstation, and Innov8.
