IWG Expands in Michigan with Eight New Flexible Workspaces

IWG is on course to have expanded its offerings in Michigan with eight new flexible workspace centers by the end of 2024.ย ย

According to a report published by the DBusiness, the company is pursuing an expansion strategy that will increase its presence in the state to 25 locations. The new centers are strategically located across both metropolitan and suburban areas, including Southfield, Ann Arbor, Clinton Township, Bloomfield Hills, Grand Rapids, and Lansing.ย

IWG’s latest venture in Michigan, and in other expansion strategies in key markets around the world, is reflecting the trend towards 15-minute cities, where individuals are seeking opportunities to work closer to home, minimize commute times and improve work-life balance.ย ย

The same approach was taken across other U.S. states including Arizona, where the company recently announced the launch of another significant expansion effort, adding 15 new coworking spaces. The expansion in Arizona added to IWG’s existing portfolio of 46 Arizona-based offices including offerings under its Regus, HQ, and Spaces brands.ย ย

Seven of the Michigan centers will operate under the Regus brand, while one will be branded as HQ, according to DBusiness. Four of the locations including one in Southfield, Ann Arbor, Clinton Township and Bloomfield Hills have already opened under the Regus brand, with the other locations scheduled for other quarters in the year.ย ย

Over the past year, the flexible workspace provider has been actively pursuing an aggressive expansion strategy in key markets around the world, and experienced a record revenue of $3.3 billion.ย ย

The company is also reported to be aligning its financial practices with U.S. standards โ€” including a company transition to dollar reporting and itโ€™s considering the adoption of US GAAP accounting standard. Coupled with fast expansion in the U.S., some analysts believe the company is strongly considering a leap from a listing on the London Exchange to a U.S. listing.ย ย
