One Roof, Australia’s leading female-oriented coworking company, has raised $1 million in capital solely from women investors to put towards its next flagship location in Melbourne.
CEO Sheree Rubinstein, who oversaw the process, said that raising capital alone can be difficult, but knew exactly who she wanted to invest into the company.
“I also really love that the majority of our investors are women — it’s hard to find female investors out there,” said Rubinstein. “It’s amazing that we have so many women willing to back our business and movement.”
One Roof originally began as a coworking space in an Airbnb mansion in 2016 and now has 85 business working in its space. As they continue plans for expansion, the company hopes to incorporate onsite childcare, wellness spaces, podcasting studios and more into their spaces.
