Dee Behan, Oonagh Geoghegan and Emma Startup are launching a $2.5 million equity crowdfunding campaign for their niche Sydney-based coworking company Frankly Co.
The idea was born when each woman expressed their frustrations with current coworking options around the city, which typically cater to full and part-time workers rather than those with side hustles and children.
Now, Frankly Co hopes to bring a variety of childcare and fitness for women that require such accommodations once they have a more permanent base. One of their proposed sites would accommodate up to 430 people and seven standalone offices.
โThere was definitely this huge gap, and it was a nugget of an idea at the time,โ said Behan.
The company also hopes to target big corporates for one quarter of its revenue. Projections suggest the workspace will be profitable in its second year.
If Frankly Co reaches its goal, it will become one of the largest equity crowdfunding campaigns in Australia so far.
โItโs not an easy road to take,โ said Behan. โItโs really, really challenging but ultimately it feels right. Women are wanting to invest, itโs their money and theyโre looking at spaces to do that.โ
