Citibase, the UK’s leading independent operator of business centres, has announced a significant expansion in Scotland, launching two exciting new state-of-the-art centres in both Aberdeen and North Lanarkshire. The new centres see Citibase double its number of business hubs in Scotland and will provide work space for up to 500 entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs with flexible and affordable serviced office space.

The Aberdeen business centre, to be named Citibase Aberdeen, is situated on Queens Road in the city’s West End, in a historic 1870’s Jacobean-style detached villa. The handsome, granite property which also features an award winning modern extension, will offer companies, both large and small, the ideal base from which to run and grow their businesses. Customers will also benefit from a desirable central location, minutes away from the city centre and just six miles from the airport.

Citibase’s other new centre launch, Citibase Strathclyde Business Park, is positioned in the heart of North Lanarkshire in the prestigious Strathclyde Business Park. The business hub is set amongst 155 acres of immaculate parkland and has been fully refurbished with ample parking for cars and bikes and excellent and convenient transport links for businesses. Set near Bellshill in the ‘golden triangle’ of the M8, M74 and M80, the centre is serviced by four train stations within a four mile radius as well as regular local bus services.

Steve Jude, CEO, Citibase commented: “Our expansion in Scotland is symbolic that the world of work has changed forever. What businesses are now looking for is agility over stability – short term contracts which allow them to manage cash flow and provide the flexibility to grow. We have already become an important part of Scotland’s business community with two great success stories at our existing Edinburgh centres. The two new additions are going to provide an extra boost for entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs looking for a home to grow their business, offering them reassurance of flexible office space to take them to the next level. We take away all the hassle of managing their workspace, leaving them time to focus on running their enterprises, which are the engine room of the new Scottish economy.

As with Citibase’s other business centres throughout the UK, Citibase Aberdeen and Citibase Strathclyde Business Park will offer flexible, short term and affordable contracts. Suites are offered in various sizes, from one person to much larger spaces, making it ideal for businesses at every stage of their development and appealing to SMEs who are often deterred by long term office contracts. Customers will also benefit from high-speed broadband, use of smart meeting room facilities, 24/7 access, personalised call handling, reception and business support services and much more.
