University CoWork – The Only Full-Service Shared Workspace on the South Side of Chicago – Opens its Doors as Woodlawn’s First Business Accelerator
University CoWork is adding a new shared workspace in Chicago’s South Side. Although Woodlawn and the entire South Side are some of the largest areas of the city, there are fewer than 10 coworking spaces. University CoWork is solving that issue by promoting a supportive entrepreneurial culture.
Memberships at University CoWork start at under $100, well below the average of most coworking spaces.
“University CoWork, at its core, is about our members. It’s through making connections, jumpstarting productivity, and thus catalyzing achievement that we will measure our success,” said Christopher Lubin, owner, operator, and longtime Woodlawn resident.
Lubin’s experience in social networking and entrepreneurship inspired him to open up CoWork in his neighborhood.
Coworking is one of the leading trends in workplaces and according to Deskmag there are “1,000,000 people working in 15,000+ coworking spaces around the world.”
University CoWork’s members come from all corners of the workforce, from real estate to bloggers and everything in between.
The new coworking space will also include networking events with Fortune 500 companies as well as other amenities, such as free coffee, a boardroom, a “Zen Den” nap suite, and several others to create a unique work environment for the area.
“University CoWork is not just a place to do business, it is more of a place to build and grow a business,” said Ray Jackson of Cardinal Financial. “I can have one-on-one meetings, group meetings, Happy Hour networking events: these things grow my business. What also sets University CoWork apart is the sense of community.”
