Office supply retailer Office Depot is dipping a toe into the coworking pool. In partnership with coworking space software company Proximity, the company launched their first shared office space entitled Workonomy Hub in Los Gatos.
This follows the company’s recent shift towards marketing as a supplier of, not only office products, but also services. Now, the company makes 16% of its revenue from these services.
The Workonomy Hub includes tech service kiosks with experts that offer consultation and installation. “The Hub” itself includes high-speed Internet, DIY printing and access to office supplies.
This isn’t the first office supplier that has entered the market. In 2016, Staples partnered with startup Workbar to create office spaces in three of their Manhattan location.
Office Depot has plans to continue expanding Workonomy Hubs into 141 stores throughout Florida, Georgia and Texas.
