The Riveter, a female-centric coworking company that welcomes all genders, launched in 2017 in Seattle and is gearing up to open its sixth location in Austin.
The newest office is 12,000 square feet located in Austin’s Market District. Now, the company hopes to continue expanding nationally.
“Today designers and builders are asking what kind of space is connected and supports workers?” said Amy Nelson, founder and CEO of the Riveter. “What kind of space and location fosters innovation and encourages us to think bigger and bolder?”
Nelson said that the Riveter offer more opportunity for women to have access to spaces, amenities and events that can help accelerate their businesses and professional lives. Amenities include meditation spaces, nursing rooms, and more.
Women are still facing numerous issues including equal pay issues, the inability of professional advancements, and lack of childcare according to Nelson and hopes the Riveter will help combat these disadvantages.
The space is also inclusive to people from all sectors of life, which is why it the spaces provide accessibility for disabled workers, gender-neutral bathrooms and prayer rooms.
Nelson also says the Riveter prioritizes a family-friendly environment for single parents by providing childcare services.
