WeWork will take over the recently renovated, six-story historic building at One Milk Street as it continues its Boston expansion.
The building in Downtown Crossing was put on the market in summer 2018 just prior to the completion of the renovation and is in the heart of the city’s tech hub.
While WeWork’s tenant strategy for the new location is unknown, Boston has been apart of a list of cities where the operator plans to expand its offerings for mid-sized companies that have grown beyond coworking spaces.
Now, WeWork’s local footprint spans almost 1.1 million square feet according to Brendan Carroll, Director of Intelligence at Perry Brokerage, putting it up there with Boston’s largest users of office space including Fidelity and John Hancock.
