Birmingham (England) is enjoying one of its best quarters for office take-up in a decade following a trio of deals from WeWork.
The office market in Birmingham, the UK’s second city, is enjoying a boom thanks to WeWork’s arrival last month.
In June the flexible workspace company agreed deals at three separate buildings in the city center, including prominent locations on Colmore Row and Brindleyplace.
As such, Birmingham experienced one of its best quarters for office take-up in a decade.
The three deals accounted for more than 70% of the city’s total office take-up for the second quarter. Combined with a positive first quarter, Birmingham’s half-year total has risen above 500,000 sq ft — a figure only surpassed once in the past 10 years.
The city is undergoing numerous developments at present, which are helping to attract businesses to the area along with more inward investment. These include developments at Paradise, Arena Central and Centenary Square, and an extension of the tram line along Broad Street and past Brindleyplace.
