Discovery Labs in Prussia, Pennsylvania is being described as the “largest coworking ecosystem for healthcare, life sciences and technology-enabled companies.”
Situated on 200 acres of land, the project is being developed by real estate investor MLP Ventures with renovations expected to be completed over the next 18 months.
Discovery Labs takes pride in its extensive utilities and infrastructure that is vital for life science companies.
The space will feature a 250-seat auditorium, a full-service kitchen and cafeteria space, a 14,000 square foot fitness center, and even a helipad so that medical samples can be swiftly between facilities.
The campus will consist of an interior glass walkway that connects the 12 buildings, making it easy for workers to connect and collaborate.
A hotel, brewpub, and rooftop restaurant are also planned for the campus for a social center called The Discovery Village.
“In the past 18 months, Philadelphia has seen a 500 percent increase in venture capital funding,” said Audrey Greenberg, Chief Financial Officer. “The first thing companies do with investment funds is hire people, and then build or look for space for those people to work in.”
