New data from Knight Frank has revealed that coworking firms have leased 4 million square feet of office space across eight major India cities in the first half of the year.
The report covered Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Ahmedabad. In January through March of last year, coworking firms leased 2.8 million square feet.
“The coworking sector is growing aggressively on the back of growing demand from regular enterprise occupiers,” according to the report. “They have begun to appreciate the design elements, community development, office environment and the vibrancy created in the coworking spaces.”
The data also showed the Bengaluru was the most preferable location location for coworking firms. On the other hand, firms leased less space in Mumbai during the first half of the year.
