Coworking startup Awfis recently raised $30 million in the fourth funding round led by Chrys Capital. Now, CEO Amit Ramani said that the funding will be used towards expansion in Tier 1 and II cities.
Awfis currently has 63 centers across nine cities in India and has established itself as one of the leader’s in coworking in the area. Ramani said that the company plans to add 200,000 seats and 400 centers over the next 36 months.
The Indian commercial real estate sector was highly unorganized with little to no transparency and lack of conducive work environment,” said Ramani. “Coworking spaces identified a gap which existed in the CRE segment for Grade A workspaces at affordable prices and are providing flexible solutions to their clients.”
Ramani also added that the firm will introduce innovative products for members to create a smarter, technology-driven workplace.
In setting itself apart from the highly competitive market in India, Ramani said that Awfis taps into the SME and corporate audience who focus on value, unlike other industry players.
