Coworking providers across China are taking preventive measures to keep coronavirus from their facilities.
WeWork’s India franchise has shut around 100 of its locations in China as well as issued an advisory to its members that are returning from China to work from home for 14 days.
Other providers like SmartWorks and Awfis are taking similar measures and closely monitoring the situation.
“The impact of Covid-19 in India is likely to be short-lived provided the virus remains relatively contained,” said Anshuman Magazine, CEO of India, South East Asia, Middle East & Africa at CBRE. “In the long term, the outbreak could encourage more occupiers and landlords to place greater emphasis on employee wellbeing and sustainability.”
Prashant Garg, country manager at Garage Society, also said that their facilities are being disinfected weekly, as well as placing bottles of hand sanitizer in each corner.
