Generation Z are the first generation to grow up using smart devices, making them truly digitally fluent. This generation’s demand for convenience leads them to using products and services that save them time and space, which is expected to transform how coworking spaces are modeled.
Gen Z want a work environment that is social, but also has a positive impact on their mental well-being, flexibility and an uplifting culture.
While Generation Z are looking for value-oriented workspaces, they still want design that is aesthetically pleasing and has ergonomic features. Sometimes that means combining the two by including eco-friendly decor such as greenery to emphasize sustainability, as well as health.
Furthermore, unlike Millennials, Generation Z prefer a flat hierarchy with plenty of privacy. This allows coworking users in particular to have the option to collaborate, as well as focus on individual work.
Overall, it is clear that the incoming generation is having a transformative impact on how coworking spaces and offices in general are operating.
