NEW YORK (January 14, 2021) — ROOM, the startup reshaping the modern workspace with modular architectural solutions, and Industrious, the highest-rated workplace provider in the US, today announced the joint launch of a series of ROOM ‘Workspace Galleries’ at Industrious locations nationwide. The first gallery launches today in Chicago with the official opening of Industrious Willis Tower, Industrious’ newest coworking space located on the 44th floor of the iconic Chicago skyscraper. Additional gallery spaces will launch this winter at Industrious Financial District in San Francisco and Industrious Century City in Los Angeles.
Bonded by the shared mission to put human need at the forefront of office culture and design, the launch showcases ROOM’s suite of purpose-built, modular solutions at work within Industrious’ thoughtfully-designed spaces. The interactive galleries demonstrate the benefit and seamless ability to create flexible workspaces, gaining both space and privacy, utilizing ROOM products. All modular products in the collaborative galleries will include Room Sense, ROOM’s proprietary analytics dashboard that provides real-time data about space utilization and density, empowering companies to make informed, data-backed decisions about their workplace needs. Industrious’ locations will serve as pilot venues for the smart software, with Room Sense officially launching later this year.
“Offices need to undergo major reinvention to accommodate the new reality of hybrid teams and distributed work, and we have designed our products to help pave the way. We are thrilled to bring the suite of our purpose-built workspaces to the Industrious community, and we are very excited to showcase the future of flex to the broader world in these beautiful work environments that we have co-created with the Industrious team,” says ROOM co-founder and CEO Brian Chen.
The gallery at Industrious Willis Tower (photos here) features both ROOM’s award-winning soundproof Phone Booth and its new Meeting Room product in the expansive coworking space, allowing Industrious members to book each for their private use. Designed for the diverse ways that people work, ROOM’s Phone Booths offer space for private phone calls and productive work sessions, while the Meeting Room can facilitate private one-on-ones, or larger collaborative discussions with built-in video-conferencing. On certain days, the gallery is also available to the public, by appointment, to come experience the ROOM product first-hand and tour the coworking space.
Spanning 52,000 square feet, Industrious Willis Tower brings Industrious’ nationwide operating footprint to-date to nearly three million square-feet. Delivering just the right amount of office space to support various work modes and team sizes, Industrious Willis Tower members are also afforded access to 125,000 square feet of new Willis Tower tenant-exclusive amenities including a 30,000-square-foot outdoor deck and garden, and Catalog, the 300,000-square-foot retail, dining and entertainment experience at the base of Willis Tower. Industrious’ new Oasis subscription product also gives Willis Tower members access to the company’s national network of spaces, offering the ability to work from any Industrious location as members travel.
“We’re thrilled that the first of ROOM’s interactive gallery spaces launches with our newest location, Industrious Willis Tower, as this iconic building continues to hold a special place in the hearts and minds of Chicagoans,” says Eivind Karlsen, VP of Product at Industrious. “In working with ROOM on this exciting initiative, we are showing Industrious members and visitors alike that we are committed to delivering even more flexibility, privacy and choice within our spaces.”
