Industrious Takes Over Former WeWork Space In Boston

Coworking provider Industrious is set to open a new office space spanning two floors at 711 Atlantic Ave., a building across from South Station in Boston. The 31,500 square-foot space was previously occupied by WeWork Inc. and is owned by Plymouth Rock Assurance Corp. This move comes after WeWork’s exit from bankruptcy, during which it shut down several Boston locations.

Industrious now operates six locations in Boston, including sites at 100 Summer St. and 225 Franklin St., as well as additional offices in Cambridge and Dedham, according to the Boston Business Journal.

Marty Long, head of portfolio management at Industrious, emphasized the new location’s connectivity, being just a block from the commuter rail and the Red Line, and its proximity to popular destinations in the city. The upcoming Boston location will feature upgraded furniture and improved functionality to enhance the workspace environment.

Unique to its business model, Industrious does not sign traditional leases but instead collaborates with landlords.
