FlexJobs Remote Work Index Finds Work-From-Home Jobs Grew 22% In Q2 2026

Remote job postings increased for second consecutive quarter in FlexJobs’ database, led by high demand for fully remote tech talent.

Guaynabo, PR, July 9, 2026 – FlexJobs® today released the Remote Work Index for Q2 2026, which found continued expansion in the remote job market as employers accelerated hiring across technology, engineering, operations, and administrative functions. For the second quarter in a row, remote job postings in the FlexJobs database increased (+22% quarter over quarter), with computer and IT jobs more than doubling over Q1, making it the fastest-growing remote career category heading into summer.

FlexJobs’ Remote Work Index analyzed remote job postings from more than 60,000 companies in its database between April 1 and June 30, 2026, identifying remote work hiring trends across industries, career fields, employers, and occupations.

Key Findings

  • Remote job postings increased 22% over Q1 2026.

  • Computer & IT was the fastest-growing remote career category, with job postings more than doubling over Q1.

  • Project Management remained the largest remote career field by overall volume.

  • Engineering, operations, and administrative job postings each grew by more than 30% compared to Q1.

  • UnitedHealth Group posted the highest number of remote jobs during the quarter.

  • High-paying remote opportunities remained concentrated in experienced technical and business leadership roles.

Demand for Technology Talent Led Remote Job Growth

While project management continued to account for the highest volume of remote openings, computer and IT job postings showed the most significant growth. The top five categories during Q2 experienced an average growth of 30%+ quarter over quarter and included:

  1. Project Management

  2. Computer & IT

  3. Sales

  4. Operations

  5. Medical & Health

Additionally, fields including communications, accounting and finance, marketing, and product showed more modest but sustained growth, increasing an average of 11% quarter over quarter.

Leading Employers Driving Remote Job Postings in Q2

Healthcare organizations represented a significant share of top remote employers, making them among the most active recruiters for remote workers throughout the quarter. The top employers posting remote jobs included:

  • UnitedHealth Group

  • Thermo Fisher Scientific

  • Medtronic

  • General Electric (GE)

  • Bright Vision Technologies

  • General Dynamics

  • Abbott

  • JLL

  • Stride, Inc.

  • IQVIA

“The demand for remote talent continues to build, with another quarter of double-digit growth in work-from-home job postings,” said Keith Spencer, Career Expert at FlexJobs. “Employers increasingly view remote work as a competitive advantage, not just a workplace benefit, because it expands access to specialized talent, strengthens retention, and helps organizations build more resilient, distributed teams.”

Experienced Professionals Still Command Highest Salaries

Many of the highest-paying remote jobs available during Q2 required specialized expertise and leadership experience. With salary potential above $100K, according to Payscale or Salary.com, the highest-paying and most in-demand remote jobs in Q2 2026 were:

  • Senior Product Manager, $132,634

  • Business Development Manager, $132,329

  • Senior Software Engineer, $128,700

  • Regional Sales Manager, $126,590

  • Senior Data Engineer, $117,394
