The modern workplace requires modern solutions, which explains why demand for coworking spaces in India continues to skyrocket.Â
According to a new report from MoneyTransfers, coworking spaces made up 20% of the country’s office stock — a 233% spike from the 6% seen during the first half of 2021.Â
Among the cities that saw the largest growth in coworking spaces were Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai, where coworking operators took up 18% of office space.Â
The main reason for the surge? According to Johnathan Merry, CEO of MoneyTransfers, it boils down to the evolution in how people are working. Â
For many, the concept of being in a company’s main office five days a week feels antiquated. Instead, professionals are more inclined to be productive in coworking spaces, where they can have flexibility in their work schedule and connect with like-minded people.  Â
Whether a person is launching a startup or works remotely for a Fortune 500 company, coworking spaces have something for nearly everyone.Â
