International Workplace Group (IWG) has announced its expansion in Washington state by launching five new coworking centers.

The additional sites bring IWG’s total number of locations in the state to 36.

“Our openings in Washington come at a time when more and more companies are discovering that flexible working boosts employee happiness and satisfaction while helping the environment,” CEO of IWG Mark Dixon said.

The new coworking centers will be located in Bainbridge Island, Bremerton, Burien, Issaquah, and Spokane Valley. Each center will offer coworking spaces, private offices, meeting rooms, and creative spaces.

The Daily Journal of Commerce reports that the Issaquah center at 371 N.E. Gilman Blvd. is already operational — operating under the HQ brand. The Burien location will also adopt the HQ brand and is slated to open later this year. The Bainbridge Island and Bremerton centers are set to open in the first quarter of 2025 and will operate under the Regus brand. Then, in the second quarter of 2025, the Spokane Valley location will open under the Regus brand.

Over the past year, the flexible workspace provider has been pursuing an aggressive expansion strategy in key markets around the world as the demand for hybrid and flexible work solutions increases.

IWG — which reportedly has over 4,000 centers worldwide and more than 1,500 in the U.S. — has also recently been pressured by U.S. stakeholders to delist from the London Stock Exchange and move to a U.S. listing.

The company says it provides flexible office space solutions to around 83% of Fortune 500 companies, highlighting its growing role in the flexible office market. These latest properties are part of a broader initiative, with IWG adding 465 new locations globally in the first half of 2024 — including 200 in the U.S. alone.

The large-scale expansion into the U.S. shows the growing demand for flexible workspaces as organizations seek to reduce costs and support employee demands for work-life balance.
