American workers are feeling increasingly uncertain about their job security, with confidence levels reaching their lowest point since the early days of the pandemic. 

According to LinkedIn’s latest Workforce Confidence survey, job confidence scored +39 in February 2025 — lower than the +43 recorded in April 2020 when COVID-19 wreaked havoc on the labor market.

This decline marks a sharp contrast to the peak job confidence of +58 in 2022. 

Over the past year alone, confidence has dropped by 10 points from +49 in February 2024, highlighting a growing sense of unease across industries.

Notably, the gap in confidence between men and women — historically favoring male workers — has all but disappeared, indicating a shared concern about job stability across the workforce.
