IWG is expanding its Illinois presence with plans to open 12 new flexible workspace locations, extending beyond the Chicago metro into central Illinois as demand for hybrid work continues to support the sector.
The expansion includes a planned Regus location at Peoria’s Twin Towers and several additional sites across the Chicago area, according to industry reporting. While most opening dates have not yet been announced, the rollout marks another step in IWG’s aggressive U.S. growth strategy, according to CoStar.
Expansion Follows Record Growth
The Illinois announcement comes after a strong period of global expansion for IWG, the parent company of Regus and Spaces.
In its first-quarter 2026 trading update, the company reported continued momentum in new center signings and openings while maintaining a substantial pipeline of additional locations. IWG has also described 2025 as a record year for new center openings, with growth continuing into 2026.
Illinois Network Continues to Grow
The latest expansion builds on IWG’s rapid growth across the state.
Last year, the company added 22 centers throughout Illinois, significantly increasing its footprint through franchise and managed partnership agreements. Earlier expansions also focused heavily on the Chicago metropolitan area before extending into additional markets across the state.
The newest locations suggest IWG is continuing to target both major business districts and smaller regional cities where companies are seeking flexible office options closer to where employees live.
While the broad expansion plan is now public, detailed opening schedules and final lease announcements are still expected as the projects move through development.
