Guaynabo, PR, July 23, 2026 – According to the FlexJobs’® Remote Work Economy Index, fully remote job postings rose 22% over the past quarter, demonstrating the lasting power of remote work in the current job landscape. Additionally in several key industries, remote jobs are accelerating at an even faster pace. To support work-from-home job seekers this summer, FlexJobs has shared the 10 fastest-growing career fields for fully remote jobs.
Through an analysis of more than 60 career categories in its database, FlexJobs compared the total number of fully remote job postings between January 1 and June 30, 2026, to determine the emerging remote career categories with at least 20% or more growth over the past six months.
A “fully remote” job is defined as any professional-level role that allows the worker to perform their job entirely from home and 100% of the time. The top 10 career categories are ranked in order from highest to lowest growth in the availability of remote jobs.

Remote jobs in sales, business development, and account management showed the highest growth (35%+) in the first half of 2026, when compared to the previous six months. Remote job postings in operations (31%) and communications (30%) also experienced a significant increase to break into the top 10 ranking.
Notably, education, administrative, and HR and recruiting showed sustained growth from past lists, with each field increasing remote job postings by at least 20% or more.
FlexJobs’ fastest-growing remote jobs list excludes career categories that routinely lead the remote job marketplace, such as computer and IT, customer service, and project management. Instead, the list focuses on the emerging industries to provide greater insight into other career opportunities shaping the work landscape.
“The consistent interest in remote talent suggests that the work-from-home job market isn’t shrinking. Instead, it’s evolving into a permanent fixture within the broader job economy,” said Keith Spencer, Career Expert at FlexJobs. “Especially heading into summer, job seekers need to be strategic about where they look for remote career opportunities, and these emerging fields are a strong signal to where demand is increasing.”
