Industrious to Open First Manhattan Location

Following a successful funding round, coworking operator Industrious is set to open its first Manhattan location. Or so rumor has it. According to this article, Industrious signed a 15 year lease and will take “17,255 sq ft on Park Avenue, between East 17th and 18th streets.”

Coworking Space Fights Sexism in Brazil

New female-only coworking space in Sao Paulo, Brazil is helping women fight against workplace sexism. Feminaria started as a closed Facebook group where women could go and have discussions about how to go about starting a business. It has since evolved and is now also a safe haven for entrepreneur women that would otherwise need to expose themselves to workplace sexism and the sexual division of labor.

Over US$300M Raised in Funding For Coworking Spaces In China

Coworking continues to rapidly grow in China. JLL China attributes this growth to “government encouragement of mass entrepreneurship, China’s shift towards a sharing economy, and more young millennials joining the workforce.” According to Chinese Media Company, China Money Network, “over US$300 million in venture funding has been raised to support co-working space projects in China.”
