Singapore-based coworking, Spacemob, is taking the coworking movement in Asia Pacific to a whole new level.

Though it opened its doors a short 3 months ago, Spacemob is already making the news and making it big.

Workspace Geek -Coworking and flex space management, made simple

“We just officially opened our doors on the 1st of September, but we are already at 80% capacity,” says Turochas “T” Fuad, founder of Spacemob.

Spacemob is T’s first project in the workspace-as-a-service industry, but it certainly isn’t the only one. “I’m passionate about the sharing economy and I saw an opportunity to disrupt the coworking space industry, both in terms of business model and use of technology to solve challenges such as facilitating networking and operations.”

“Though there are a lot of coworking spaces in Singapore catering to different audiences, most have the same offering: a desk, in-house amenities, and access to networking events. At Spacemob, we want to be different and standout, so we have taken coworking a step further by providing our members with a support system and access to some of the best training in Singapore.”

Though T didn’t get too  much into detail about the support system and training, he did mention the following: “Our team is developing a members’ directory that provides an in-depth profile for each member and the services they offer and seek–like a ‘Tinder’ for businesses.”

One thing’s for sure, T is set on making it as easy as possible for members to collaborate with one another.

Like other coworking operators globally, Spacemob is also focusing on giving its members a thriving environment and community that helps them grow and remain competitive on a global scale. “The core of our offering is to provide foundations for businesses, part of which is to enable them to become regional as fast as they can.”

Which is why  Spacemob has partnered with various hotels in Asia that allow for Spacemob members to book rooms at preferred rates.

Just like he hopes for Spacemob members, T also expects the workspace brand to grow exponentially in the Asia Pacific region.

Having recently closed a successful funding round with US$5.5 million, Spacemob is on the right track towards expansion. Starting with another coworking space in Singapore, the brand expects to be present in most major markets in the not so distant future.

Nonetheless, T’s vision goes beyond providing workspace.

“My vision is to offer a space for people to work and sleep, king of like a hotel with coworking.” Sounds a lot like co-living to us.  We’ll have to hold our horses on this one though, as T said “these are just plans for now that I’m developing.”
