The Wing Reportedly Under ‘Investigation’

The high-end women-only coworking space in New York, The Wing, is being investigated by The New York Human Rights Commission, Fortune reported this week. According to the article, the inquiry “is likely centered around how anti-discrimination laws apply to The Wing. The Commission’s mandate is to investigate potential violations of the city’s Human Rights Law, which forbids businesses that furnish public accommodations, including most private clubs, from discriminating against customers because of their gender.”

Coworking At Hooters In Tokyo

SoraNews24 first reported this week that Hooters in Tokyo’s Ginza neighborhood has partnered with Spacee, a company that allows individuals to use restaurants as workplaces during restaurants’ downtime. According to the article, since March 23 the “Ginza Hooters has designated 20 seats as Sapcee workspaces, which can be used in 30-minute blocks for just 50 yen (approximately US$0.47).

Asia’s fastest growing coworking brand, Ucommune, recently acquired Wedo coworking. Wedo has 12 coworking spaces in Shenzhen that span a total of 60,000 square meters. The partnership will allow Ucommune and Wedo to establish the largest coworking platform in the Macau-Hong Kong-Shenzhen region.

A County Courthouse Annex To Become Coworking Space

The Journal Advocate reported this week that the Logan County Commissioners have given the go-head to a coworking grant application that will fund renovations in the Courthouse Annex so that it can be converted into a coworking space.
