In an effort to become even more flexible and collaborative, enterprises are seeking to offer “omnipresent workplaces” that allows employees to work from virtually anywhere at anytime.
Digital workplace solutions allow workers similar flexible space amenities, but are more cloud-based.
The Information Services Group (ISG) Provider Lens™ Digital Workplace of the Future report for Brazil says enterprises are studying new methods in the way work gets done by hiring consultants that use design, analytics and automation to cater to specific jobs.
The report covers 24 Brazilian workplace providers across five sectors, including Digital Workplace Consulting Services; Managed Digital Workplace Services; Enterprise Mobility Management Services; Managed Digital Workplace and Mobile Enterprise Services; and Unified Communication and Collaboration Services.
The end goal is to increase productivity by expanding cloud-based access that allows employees to access work information from virtually anywhere, on any device.
Automated and self-servicing workplaces would eliminate the need for field jobs, but humans would be needed to train said Ai bots.
Device-as-a-Service, taking devices and bundling them with software and other services, has grown in popularity. “Device neutrality” allows app stores to choose any device and self-install business applications is also being provided by some enterprises. The report also says that these workplace management tools have the ability to track data use and analytics, while also having the ability to wipe information from stolen or lost devices.
“Cloud-based collaboration platforms that combine VoIP, video and chat such as Skype for Business, Google Hangouts, GoToMeeting, Zoom, WebEx and Slack are replacing traditional telephony, ISG says” according to AiThority. “Social collaboration, too, is taking center stage, with instant messaging replacing email and file-sharing platforms being used in place of attachments.”
