Brokerage firm CBRE is reportedly looking at 3 World Trade Center in New York for its new coworking brand, Hana, as it officially enters into the coworking market.
Sources said that the company was looking at possibly taking up around 100,000 square feet across two floors at 3 World Trade Center, in addition to other Manhattan locations.
“I can’t comment on the conversations we’re having,” a spokeswoman for Hana said. “We’re having a variety of conversations across the globe with a focus on the U.S. and the U.K.”
So far, Hana has revealed it will open two new locations by the end of the year: one in a 67,000 square foot Dallas space, and another in a 60,000 square foot space in Irvine.
The push for CBRE’s coworking branch has left competitors vowing to never do business with the firm again.
“If they want to open a shingle that competes with me, I can do business with other brokers,” said Amol Sarva, CEO of Knotel. “They’re not going to represent us.”
