Music has been proven to benefit everyone in one way or another, whether it is used as an escape or boosts our moods. Music can be an effective tool throughout all aspects of life, especially in the workplace.

For example, Deloitte, the largest professional services network in the world, has incorporated music into its office routine and over 80% of its employees that participated in music lessons reported having a more positive attitude about their workplace.

Passive listening and music therapy have been proven to boost cognitive functions, which helps with our memory, information processing, and execution of tasks. Still, the type of music you listen to matters.

Researchers have found that listening to classical music activates both the left and right halves of the brain which boosts memory and learning abilities, as well as lowers heart rate which can alleviate work-related stress. Hip-hop, on the other hand, can help with non-linguistic tasks, while trance dance music can increase the speed of performing a mechanical task.
