As the health and wellness industry continues to boom, the impact it is having on corporate culture is growing as well. In fact, the corporate wellness market is expected to be worth $974 billion by 2027.

Incorporating wellness and health in the workplace is now essential in attracting and retaining top talent, so employers should get ahead of the curve in order to remain competitive.

Corporate wellness goes beyond health and dental — it also includes mental well-being. With 83% of employees suffering from work-related stress, it is clear that companies need to do more to help staff have a better work experience. This can include incorporating an in-house gym, promoting mindfulness and meditation in the office, offering flexible hours and more.

Community wellness is also essential to creating a work atmosphere that is productive and inviting. To create a strong work community that supports wellness, companies should consider promoting team bonding events, hosting monthly potlucks, hikes and other gatherings that can bring everyone closer together.

Finances is the number one source of stresser for Americans, so companies can encourage financial wellness by including financial education, student-loan aid and money management tools.

Creating a personalized wellness experience is also important to ensuring all employees are supported and cared for. This could mean offering a gym membership for one worker, or including a smoking cessation program for another.
