Hulu Drops Trailer For WeWork Documentary

• WeWork: Or the Making and Breaking of a $47 Billion Unicorn premiered today at SXSW.

Hulu released today the trailer for WeWork: Or the Making and Breaking of a $47 Billion Unicorn”.  

The documentary chronicles the rise and fall of WeWork and it is slated to hit the streaming platform in a couple weeks’ time—April 2^nd.

The film premiered online at SXSW today (March 17^th) and it was directed by Jed Rothstein, an Oscar-nominated filmmaker. The movie details how Adam Neumann, WeWork founder and former CEO, was able to raise insane amounts of money by telling investors that WeWork was a technology platform—arguing that it was the next Google or Facebook.  

The documentary also explores how Adam’s persona clouded the reality of WeWork: that it was really a real estate company and quite an unprofitable one at that. It was doomed to go bust sooner rather than later—as one documentary participant states in the trailer “they’re renting fucking desks”.

Former WeWork employees participated in the documentary; however, Adam Neumann and WeWork declined to participate in the making of the film, Jeff Rothstein reveled in an interview with Fortune.
