Microsoft has told employees that it will require proof of vaccination for entry into its buildings starting in September.
However, workers who have a medical condition or religious reasons that keeps them from getting a vaccine can receive accommodations.
The company has pushed its original reopening date from September to October 4. Those who may have children too young for the vaccine or are caregivers to immunocompromised people will have the ability to work from home until January.
“As we have done since the beginning of the pandemic, we continue to closely track new developments and adapt our plans as this situation evolves, keeping employee health and safety top of mind,” the company said in a statement.
This is in line with what other companies like Facebook and Google have been announcing as the threat of Delta causes a surge in cases across the U.S.
