A new survey from Oracle reveals that more and more workers are turning to artificial intelligence to seek career advice amidst the Great Resignation.
In fact, 75% of respondents said they feel personally and professionally at a crossroads, and that they are growing more reliant on technology to help them make career-related decisions.
Even more, 85% of people said they want to use technology to help define their future in terms of what skills they need, how to obtain those skills, and what steps to take moving forward in their career. Specifically, 82% said they believe AI can help them do so.
“People are trying to really find what they’re good at, or what they want to spend their time doing,” said Andrew Challenger, senior vice president at staffing firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas. “Especially in the times we’re living in.”
AI has evolved tremendously over the past several years and now has the ability to perform Human Resources-related tasks.
In fact, technology firm IBM says it has developed AI that has the ability to predict whether a worker is likely to quit their job. The company also uses AI to help employees expand their skills and apply them to work that is in higher demand.
“It comes down to thinking about how to use technology to identify what the next opportunity is for [employees], and not just to identify it, but to point to the right courses and skills that they are going to need to make that transition,” said Dan Schawbel, managing partner of Workplace Intelligence, partner on the Oracle survey.
