IWG’s Shares Jump Following Takeover Offers
Last week we learned that three private equity firms approached International Workplace Group (IWG) with different takeover offers. Things have heated up for Regus’ holding company since the announcement, as IWG’s “shares have jumped to 310p on the prospect of a competitive bidding battle.” We’re sure this isn’t the last we will hear from IWG prior to the June 8 bid announcements, so stay tuned for more.
Tufts University and BioLabs Open Niche Coworking Space
Tufts University and BioLabs announced this week the opening of Tufts Launchpad | BioLabs, “a full-service biotech facility supporting high-potential, early-stage life sciences startup ventures in the Boston area.” The space is located on the university’s Health Sciences campus, and according to Tufts Now, the space has capacity for approximately 100 scientists and 19 companies have already moved in.
Mindspace Acquired Netherlands-Based KleinKantoor
Calcalist reported this week that Mindspace, “an Israel-based provider of shared office space, has acquired KleinKantoor, which operates seven coworking locations in the Netherlands.” The deal expands Mindspace’s footprint to six countries and to 25 locations, and according to the article, “Mindspace plans to gradually phase out the KleinKantoor brand with all seven of its locations redesigned to match Mindspace’s aesthetic and upgraded with additional services for tenants.”
Junction Station: A Construction-Focused Coworking Space
The Daily Sentinel reported this week that a construction-focused coworking space has opened in Grand Junction, Colorado. According to the article, the new space–Junction Station–”is geared toward professionals in the construction industry.” Although the space is already operating and has a few members, there is still some work to be done prior to the grand opening, June 27th.
