Perth-based company My Hustle is taking the idea of traditional coworking spaces and turning them into an even more flexible option by transforming small bars into casual weekday workspaces.
Each space offers private booths, a meeting room, hot desks, high-top tables, free WiFi, and discounts at surrounding businesses.
โItโs been a really difficult time for bars and lots of good venues have closed,โ said founder Melissa Bowen. โIt doesnโt make sense for a bar like Percy Flint, like lots of small bars in the suburbs, to be open all hours of the day, but the place is sitting there ready to go. Itโs comfortable and relaxed. It doesnโt suit everyone, but it suits lots of people.โ
Bowen hopes to operate Percy Flint for six months before reaching out to other bars. In the meantime, My Hustle will track the companyโs revenue growth, sustainability, and its clientele to provide data to bars in the future.
