IWG is moving full speed ahead in expanding its footprint in Australia through its franchised coworking spaces. If all goes as planned, the company will see over 100 new centers in the next five years.
Using the franchise model will allow the firm to expand more rapidly, according to IWG country head Damien Sheehan.
“With the right partner or partners, we believe we can commit to 100 centres as a minimum in the next five years,” said Sheehan. “So, in total, our portfolio will consist of 150 to 200 new centres, when taking into consideration what the market can absorb.”
The company’s expansion plan promises to go beyond the main markets and into tier two cities, such as Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat, Townsville, and more. Sheehan said this allows companies to have better access to a more diverse talent pool across the country.
Currently, there are 20 new locations in the pipeline that could add 60,000 square meters to IWG’s portfolio.
