This Friday morning, GCUC USA announced the new dates for the event, which will take place in Seattle in the original venue from July 14th to July 17th.

  • Earlier this week GCUC announced that it had postponed the dates of the USA conference due to the coronavirus outbreak.
  • This Friday morning, GCUC USA announced the new dates for the event, which will take place in Seattle in the original venue from July 14th to July 17th.
  • GCUC also announced this Friday that its Manchester event is being postponed.

On Monday March 9th, 2020, the Global Coworking Unconference Conference (GCUC) announced that it had made the tough decision to postpone its USA edition, which was scheduled to take place in late April, due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Two days later, the World Health Organization (WHO) officially declared the outbreak a pandemic.

Since the WHO’s announcement, various events across industries have been cancelled as and organizations at large have asked employees to work remotely. In times like these, social distancing is everyone’s responsibility, and the coworking industry understands the importance of placing people first.

Response from Sponsors and Attendees

Following the announcement, GCUC shared that it has been met with messages of support from sponsors, partners, attendees, and the industry at large.

The response is a true personification of the coworking community and how it seeks to support those that are a part of it, in the good times and the bad.

In a recent blog post, GCUC shared some of the responses they received from the community, including:

  • “Good call ladies, you did the right thing”
  • “Sending big love”
  • “I know this couldn’t have been easy or fun for you, but thank you for putting the wellness of the community first”
