Although Twitter has made a permanent commitment to remote working arrangements, the social media giant has expanded its headquarters in San Francisco.
Twitter has grown its existing headquarters by nearly 80,000 square feet, while simultaneously moving into another space at 1355 Market Street which was previously occupied by online home services marketplace Thumbtack.
“Flexing our offices is consistent with our real estate and workplace strategy. At times we may extend our decision to sublease floors, while other times we may take them back to use as our own,” the company stated. “This strategy is about providing us with maximum flexibility for our future real estate needs.”
Twitter is also currently looking to sublease space on 10th Street, adjacent to the 1355 Market Street location.
This move goes against the grain of current trends, where companies cut back on their real estate if making the transition to hybrid or remote work policies.
