Instagram Introduces Longer Reels And More Updates

As it continues to reinvent itself, Instagram has announced a new slew of updates to keep up with social media competition — mainly TikTok. 

For starters, creators can now upload 90-second clips on Reels. While this feature’s initial purpose was to offer short-form videos, TikTok itself added a 10-minute video option earlier this year. Now, Instagram is taking a similar approach.

Aside from the length update, users can also add Story stickers to their Reels, including polls, quizzes, and more. 

Additionally, Reels creators can now sync their own audio onto the feature, as well as automatically link their video to the beat of audio (just like TikTok).

Finally, Instagram is introducing the ability to pin favorite posts onto a person’s profile, allowing users to feature their personal interests, hobbies, humor, and more.
