โ€œWe are bullish on the MLK Corridor,โ€ said FUSE Workspace President John Herring. โ€œWith the opening of our new location, we anticipate engaging local businesses and residents, increasing awareness of all this historic area has to offer, and spurring further imaginative, inspired revitalization of this dynamic part of Austin.โ€

FUSEโ€™s new East MLK location is a joint venture between co-owners FUSE Workspace and the buildingโ€™s original developer, Austin-based CB Capital, an experienced developer of office, retail, industrial and storage projects across Texas and longtime benefactor of the Austin community.

โ€œWe have already had a great response from interested parties, and the local neighborhood has welcomed us warmly,โ€ said Herring. โ€œOur members are thrilled to find they can walk, bike, scooter, or take the train or bus to and from this new location.โ€

โˆ’ David Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Pastor (Rev. Robert J. Pellette, Executive Minister) who will give the invocation.

The event will also serve to honor the Austin chapter of Friends of the Children, a national nonprofit organization that has revolutionized the youth mentoring field by creating the first and only long-term mentoring program in the country.

The event will also highlight FUSE Workspaceโ€™s partnership with The Master Cares Foundation and Grace Bridge for their work in providing health care, education, and freshwater drinking wells to communities in Uganda. For each new FUSE location that opens, its owners donate to The Master Cares money to fund a new freshwater drinking well in an underserved community and sponsor a Ugandan childโ€™s attendance at The Master Cares School. FUSE-MLK members and guests enjoy a professional, yet casual environment intended to boost creativity and productivity. The buildingโ€™s interior design incorporates local influences in elements of wood and stone; distinctive lighting features; and art and furnishings reflective of the East Austin aesthetic. Framed Austin City Limits concert posters appear throughout the building.

FUSE-MLK features a kitchen and cafรฉ in the common area with a grab-and-go market offering local baked goods. Three large outdoor covered patios lend views of the East Austin neighborhood, downtown, and several of Austinโ€™s nostalgic moon towers, some of the only few surviving moonlight towers in the world. Other amenities include private phone booths; Wi-Fi, and copy/scan services; a members-only gym with showers; secure bike lockers; access to on-site garage parking, as well as nearby free parking.

FUSE Workspaceโ€™s concierge staff is on-site during business hours, ready to assist with technology and meeting room needs. They will also coordinate regular networking events and lunch-and-learn sessions to help members make new connections and maximize their reach.

Private offices at the MLK location start at $775 per month. During the grand opening week, FUSE is offering free coworking from Wednesday, October 23 through Friday, October 25, 8 am โ€“ 5 pm. No reservations are necessary.

FUSE Workspace is one of the largest providers of flex office co-working spaces in the Austin area, with six locations, four of which are in downtown and suburban Austin. Plans are moving forward to develop a fifth FUSE Austin location. This new location will feature 36,000 square-feet of private offices, coworking, meeting and event space. The 3.2-acre site sits lakeside on Central Park Drive in Cedar Park, just northwest of Austin and is adjacent to a proposed 7,000 square-foot retail center. โ€œFuse-MLK is ideal for any small professional services business, start-up, solo entrepreneur or service provider,โ€ said Herring. โ€œThis is a prime location in the heart of a vibrant, walkable community and is close to downtown, the Dell Medical School, and The University of Texas. We expect spaces in this new East Austin center to fill up quickly.โ€
