CEO of Industrious Looks For Successor As His Leadership Role At CBRE Expands

Flexible workspace operators are increasingly becoming part of larger workplace management strategies rather than standalone coworking businesses.

Industrious is searching for a new CEO as its co-founder/CEO Jamie Hodari moves further into his leadership role at CBRE, according to BisNow.

Hodari has continued leading Industrious since CBRE acquired the coworking company for $800 million last year. At the same time, he has also been serving as CEO of CBRE’s building operations and experiences division, overseeing management and operations across more than 8 billion square feet globally.

According to Business Insider, Hodari is now looking for a new executive to lead Industrious long term.

Coworking And Workplace Experience Continue Converging

The leadership transition comes as CBRE continues expanding its focus on workplace experience, flexible office space, and building operations.

Last year, CBRE hired former Meta Platforms executive Annie Dean to help develop workplace strategy initiatives tied to Industrious. The company also launched the CBRE x Industrious Building Experiences Lab, which focuses on designing office environments modeled more closely after hospitality spaces like hotels and restaurants.

CBRE Expands Beyond Traditional Office Services

CBRE also reported strong financial growth to begin 2026. The company said first-quarter net income rose more than 95% year over year to $318 million, helped partly by growth tied to data center development projects.

The company recently announced a partnership with Meta to help train fiber technicians for next-generation data center infrastructure projects as AI-related demand for digital infrastructure continues growing.

Meanwhile, Industrious remains one of the largest premium coworking operators in the U.S., serving a client base that increasingly includes enterprise companies managing hybrid workforces and distributed office strategies.
