The population of remote workers has grown tenfold, especially as professionals quit their job in search for more flexibility as part of the Great Resignation.Â
This evolution led to a new report from Ziply Fiber, in which the firm analyzed data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. News, Indeed, CNBC, and others to determine the best positions and places for remote working in 2022.Â
According to the report, the highest paid online job in the new year will be a virtual administrative assistant, which often does not require a degree. Additionally, the customer service field will see the most opportunities.Â
Even more, a Flexjobs report notes that writing, social media, and graphic design all saw a spike in remote job listings since the beginning of this year and is expected to continue growing in popularity in 2022.Â
Demand for bilingual workers is also anticipated to grow 24% by 2030 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.Â
For those with college degrees, the highest paid online job will be in the psychiatry field.Â
The Bureau of Labor Statistics also pointed out that because of the increase of remote working, computer and mathematics positions are expected to expand and grow.Â
CNBC also ranked the top 10 states for remote work based on broadband connectivity, healthcare, sustainability, inclusiveness, housing costs, overall cost of living, and taxes. These states included: Â
- North DakotaÂ
- NebraskaÂ
- MinnesotaÂ
- ColoradoÂ
- KansasÂ
- IdahoÂ
- IowaÂ
- TennesseeÂ
- WashingtonÂ
- IllinoisÂ
