An internal memo reveals that unvaccinated T-Mobile corporate employees could face termination.
The memo shows that workers who are not fully vaccinated against Covid-19 by April 2 will be fired.
“Employees who have not yet taken action to receive their first dose and upload proof by February 21 will be placed on unpaid leave,” the memo stated. “Affected employees who do not become fully vaccinated … by April 2 will be separated from T-Mobile.”
However, the vaccine rules do not seem to apply to field technicians and most in-store retail staffers.
This news follows the U.S. Supreme Court striking down President Biden’s workplace vaccine mandate for companies with 100 or more employees earlier this month.
Some companies have doubled down on this policy, moving forward with their own internal mandate, while others have reversed plans for vaccine mandates now that it is no longer a legal requirement.
It is expected that some companies attempting to bring workers back into the office may rely on mask and vaccine mandates to make this possible.
