JPMorgan New Headquarters Addresses The Need For More Flexibility

JPMorgan Chase has detailed its massive new 60-story headquarters in Midtown East.

The 1,388-foot tower situated on 270 Park Avenue will take up 2.5 million square feet and is expected to complete construction by the end of 2025. According to the bank, 14,000 of the company’s 25,000 employees can be accommodated in the new headquarters.

In addition to the increased biophilic design, JPMorgan will also become the largest building in New York to completely rely on hydroelectric power. By doing so, the building will have net zero operational emissions.

Addressing the need for better physical and mental health support, the building will also include a fitness area, yoga rooms, physical therapy, mother’s rooms, meditation spaces, and more.

CEO Jamie Dimon, who was once an adamant supporter of in-person work, also revealed that the space will feature flexible floorplans to accommodate different work styles.

A recent shareholder letter from the CEO stated that “working from home will become more permanent in American business.”
