Digital nomads have quickly become mainstream as the global workforce sheds its geographical boundaries.
As a result of this and the desire to boost tourism, countries have started introducing digital nomad visa programs that encourages these workers to live and contribute to the economy of certain regions.
The latest move of attracting digital nomads comes from South America, where Brazil will launch the region’s first digital nomad village in Pipa.
Founded by NomadX’s CEO Gonçalo Hall — responsible for launching Europe’s first digital nomad village — the project is expected to run from this November to April of 2023.
After the pilot, NomadX, as well as Brazil’s government and tourism board will review the results to decide whether the experience should continue.
Gonçalo’s launched the first digital nomad village in Portugal, leading Brazil’s government eager to launch its own iteration of this professional safe haven.
Digital nomad villages offer specific services and resources geared towards digital nomads, including fast internet, coliving residences, coworking spaces, networking events and more to fully support these traveling workers.
