Investor and entrepreneur Charlie Hammond made the move from London to Los Angeles in 2020 to enjoy the fruits of being untethered by a physical workspace — and to get easy access to the area’s diverse surroundings.
As the integration of nature into his life began to take form, he realized this foolproof method of improving mental health could be brought to the masses by offering a safe haven for remote workers.
Find Sanctuary, which officially launches in 2023, will offer 40 rentable tiny cabins in Big Bear, California that provides a place of solace for those who are overworked, inching towards burnout or those looking for a change of pace in their work environment.
Inside each tiny cabin, occupants have access to a king-sized bed, wood-burning fireplace, a sunken tub, a reading nook, high-speed internet, as well as a desk with vast views of the landscape.
“The site is perched in the mountains above a cloud cover, so it evokes a sense of awe,” said Hammond. “There are pine trees, rugged mountains, and birdsong at night—it’s a special place that draws you into the present.”
