PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has entered a major partnership with OpenAI, becoming the largest enterprise customer and first reseller of OpenAI’s ChatGPT Enterprise product.Â
This collaboration is part of a broader trend where large businesses are increasingly adopting generative artificial intelligence (genAI) into business-wide workflows. Â
The Wall Street Journal reports that PwC plans to deploy ChatGPT Enterprise across its workforce — which includes 75,000 employees in the U.S. and 26,000 in the U.K.Â
The integration of ChatGPT Enterprise is expected to update PwC’s business operations by automating routine tasks such as reviewing tax returns and generating reports and business dashboards.Â
Reuters reports that the OpenAI builds upon PwC’s previously announced plans to invest $1 billion in generative AI technology. By leveraging AI, PwC plans to streamline workflows, reduce manual errors, and free up human resources for more strategic and complex tasks.Â
OpenAI, on the other hand, continues to expand its market reach by securing enterprise customers beyond its primary partner, Microsoft. It’s reported that CEO Sam Altman has been engaging with top executives from Fortune 500 companies, and promoting AI services tailored for corporate use. Â
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but the strategic implications are clear, and it sets a precedent for other large firms to follow suit in embracing advanced technological solutions in their teams. Â
