Office space leasing across seven major Indian cities rose 11% in the April–June quarter, reaching 17.8 million square feet, according to real estate firm Colliers. This marks an increase from 16.1 million square feet during the same period last year.

The boost in demand came mainly from corporate tenants, showing resilience despite ongoing global economic challenges. Six cities — Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune — saw increased activity, while leasing in Mumbai declined, according to Rediff.

These figures reflect “gross leasing,” which includes all new office space deals but excludes lease renewals, pre-commitments, and preliminary agreements.

Colliers India’s Arpit Mehrotra said the country’s office market is on a strong growth path in 2025, supported by a wider variety of tenants, steady new supply, and growing investor interest.
